Product Studio & Engineering

SOFTWARE
THAT WORKS.

I build backends, platforms, and tools for companies that need things to actually work in production. Mostly fintech, e-commerce, and data-heavy systems.

How I work

I also run
my own products.

Frostwood Labs is a one-person studio. Beyond client work, I build and operate my own SaaS products—which means I deal with the same production concerns you do.

When I set up infrastructure or choose a stack, it's something I'm willing to maintain myself. That tends to keep things pragmatic.

Same infrastructure

The tools and patterns I use for clients are the same ones running my own products.

Production experience

I've dealt with the 2 AM alerts, the billing edge cases, the migrations. It informs how I build.

Long-term thinking

I write code that I'll have to maintain later. That changes how you approach things.

What I Do

The areas where I have the most experience and can be most useful.

01

Backend Systems

APIs, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines. I focus on systems that need to handle real load and stay maintainable over time.

Backend API
02

Web Applications

Full-stack development when needed. Clean interfaces that work well and don't frustrate users.

Frontend Full-stack
03

Mobile Apps

iOS and Android development. Cross-platform when it makes sense, native when it matters.

iOS Android
04

Data & Infrastructure

Cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, observability. The unglamorous work that keeps everything running.

DevOps Data
05

Technical Consulting

Architecture reviews, due diligence, helping teams get unstuck. Sometimes an outside perspective helps.

If your project doesn't fit neatly into these categories, let's talk anyway. I'm happy to discuss whether I can help.

How Projects Work

01

Understanding

Week 1–2

We talk through what you're trying to build, what constraints matter, and what success looks like. I put together a concrete plan.

02

Building

Weeks 2–6

I work iteratively—you'll see progress regularly, not just at the end. I prefer to get something working early and refine from there.

03

Delivery

Week 6+

You get working software, documentation, and whatever handoff makes sense. I can stick around for ongoing work or help your team take over.

Have a
project in mind?

Tell me what you're working on. I typically respond within a day.

About

Vladimir Ćirković

Backend engineer. I've spent most of my career building systems where reliability actually matters.

MSc Informatics — University of Belgrade
Background

I've been writing production code for about 18 years, mostly in Go, Java, Scala, and Kotlin. The systems I work on typically involve Kafka, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes). I care about clean APIs, proper observability, and code that other people can actually maintain.

Most of my experience is in fintech, e-commerce, and data-intensive applications. I've worked with product teams, finance teams, and ops; the work usually involves making billing, compliance, or data flows more reliable.

Recent Work
  • BVNK — Event-driven crypto platform, audit-ready data infrastructure
  • Vroom — Containerized backends, high-volume integrations
  • RMS/Moody's — Risk modeling systems, event sourcing & CQRS
Stack

Go, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kubernetes, Docker.

Domains

Fintech, payments, crypto, e-commerce, gaming, real-time data processing.

Approach

I write tests, document decisions, and try to leave codebases better than I found them. I prefer working closely with teams rather than throwing things over a wall.
